Why Bob Martinez Won't Be GOP Chair Anymore

Okay, so it has a lot to do with Dick Wadhams deciding to run for Chair and the fact that Republicans were absolutely creamed in 2006, but check out this completely flacid press release sent out yesterday by Martinez after Gov. Bill Ritter’s State of the State address:

“Today Governor Bill Ritter gave a campaign speech to the state of Colorado, rather than a state of the state address. Governor Ritter isn’t ready for the big time and he continues to prove it by giving Colorado meaningless fluff instead of substantive policy initiatives.  The Governor’s failure to propose anything more than a study of Colorado’s problems worries me that the answers are all going to come from his liberal special interest and labor union friends.”

Talk about just going through the motions. He shouldn’t have even bothered.
